A Few Good Friends

I often hear there are friends for a season, a reason or a lifetime.

We start with childhood friends; the ones from school, the ones to party and others with privileges. Later on, we have work colleagues, the ones that come with marriage, and in other cases from motherhood.

Some have climbed aboard your life’s wagon and have made pleasant trips, some turbulent, yet always memorable. But just because at some point they (or you) decide to no longer ride together. From time to time, a few of them will go out for a spin, and others even though time and distance never miss a beat.

I understand now a friendship ends because the person's mission in our life was complete.  There's no need for a reason. It's over because the lesson was learned.

I have a variety of friends, and I will be eternally grateful. I learned, cried, laughed, enjoyed, explored and learned from everyone. Each one contributed to my life, and I will always remember them because as I said, I'm made up of bits of them all.
